New Obsession: Kate Earl

Gorgeous Dutch/Welsh/Filipino/Alaskan makes music reminiscent of Jem and Lily Allen. [...]Well, I’ve officially had this EP on repeat all weekend. Born in Alaska to self-made immigrant parents, Kate Nash blends slightly reggae beats with smooth vocals and synth to make a sound that truly resonates. I found her EP (self-titled) by accident on Itunes, and immediately purchased it after listening to the 30 second previews.

Listen to her songs on myspace.  If you like it, I highly recommend buying the EP. It costs less than a coffee at Starbucks, and is definitely worth it.

Wait, are you writing about Kate Nash or Kate Earl?

I’m talking about Kate Earl. Kate Nash is British, and not a new artist.

      (though I do like “Foundations”)
